Are manipulations good?

The word “manipulation” is definitely associated with something bad, and usually it is correct.

Manipulators are those who use knowledge of human psychology to satisfy their own needs. They play on human vulnerabilities and weaknesses to achieve their own goals.

Manipulators are bad people. But what about the manipulations themselves — are they useful?

Have you come across content in the style of “how to make yourself work efficiently?”, “how to stop procrastinating?”, “how to find motivation?” ?

All these articles, videos and posts about how to use the mechanisms of our own psyche more effectively. We don’t like to waste our time and energy.

Usually, there are some tips and life hacks that help us bypass our innate energy-saving mechanisms and start acting the way we want to, start achieving our goals.

But isn’t this manipulation? Hasn’t there been an influence on us with the aim of achieving some goal? Aren’t we manipulating ourselves when we use these tips?
